MANILA, Philippines – The female police official who was arrested for attempting to rescue Abu Sayyaf terrorists is allegedly the lover of one of the group’s members; this was according to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa.
Dela Rosa was referring to Superintendent Maria Christina Nobleza who was arrested after trying to drive past a checkpoint in Clarin, Bohol on Saturday night. She was arrested with her driver and companion, Renierlo Dongon.
Dongon is also an Abu Sayyaf member and is the alleged lover of Nobleza; a deputy regional chief of the Davao Crime Laboratory.
“Ongoing pa ang investigation, but initially, this is what we have come up with: She’s a balik-Islam and she’s romantically involved or romantically linked with that ASG member na driver na later on na-find out na si Renier Dongon,” Dela Rosa told reporters on Monday.
